Margarita worked as a Research Assistant in the Horvath lab. She was involved in investigating hereditary mitochondrial translational defects affecting muscle cells with a focus on the effects of growth factor supplementation as a potential treatment strategy for such conditions.
Margarita completed her MSc Degree in Molecular Biology at the International Max Planck Research School in Goettingen, Germany. Before joining the Department of Clinical Neurosciences at the University of Cambridge, she worked on heart-specific mitochondrial disease at the University Hospital Goettingen and on biophysical approaches to address neurodegeneration at the Max Planck Institute in Germany.
Margarita is now pursuing a PhD at the The Technical University of Munich, Germany.
