Nick is a Research Associate working on an MRC-funded project developing electrophysiology measures of brain activity to optimise cochlear implant outcomes.
He has previously worked with Professor David McAlpine at Macquarie University and UCL, where he investigated questions concerning binaural perception. He used behavioural and EEG measures to investigate sensitivity to interaural timing difference (ITD) cues. During his time at UCL, Nick was employed on an EU project to improve performance for bilateral cochlear implant users. The project was in collaboration with Oldenburg University and industry (Oticon Medical, HörTech)
For his PhD, he worked with Professor Brian Roberts at Aston University, and investigated the perceptual representation of sequential sounds. He used behavioural measures to investigate questions concerning auditory stream segregation.
